West Nile Monorail – 6th of October

The West Nile Monorail is one of Egypt’s most advanced mass transit projects, designed to connect 6th of October City and Sheikh Zayed with Greater Cairo’s metro network. Stretching 42 km with 13 stations, the line links the industrial and residential areas of October to the Cairo Metro Line 3 at Wadi El Nile station. Operated with fully automated electric monorail technology, the project reduces traffic congestion, lowers carbon emissions, and supports sustainable urban development. Developed by a consortium led by Bombardier Transportation with Egyptian partners, it plays a vital role in easing mobility between West Cairo and the capital.
